Original Super Villain Work in Progress

  • I used a Prismacolor Col Erase Pencil,
    Sakura Pigma Microns, and C
    opic Markers,
on 5” x 7” 90 lb Canson Mix Media Paper.
  • When I share artworks, I typically post some sort of fan art.  The sketch, on the left, is one of my original characters.  I have several story ideas that could be translated into a comic or other mediums.

  • I’ve been thinking through this super villain and his evil sons, for close to two years now. I have some concepts for his voice and the style of stories, that I want to tell. I created a silly monikers, for the villain and his sons, but I have not really gotten very far in creating the look of the sons, just yet.

  • Since I have been posting art related videos, on my YouTube channel, I’ve been toying with the idea of doing some simple animations, with this character.

  • This is the super villain dad, his real name is a secret, but his silly super villain name is the "Yellow Green Jacket." He is a human, but he wears a insect inspired helmet.

Garfield/Stranger Things Mashups

I have done a lot of sketches, this year.  Several of them, that I really enjoyed working on recently, were my Garfield/Stranger Things mash-ups.  To see my individual sketches, that I used to create the image, on the left, check out my Instagram.

Like most kids, I liked to color, but I remember really starting to draw, in first grade. I loved Garfield, and I would trace various images of Garfield that I had.  Until the day came that I could, just draw Garfield.

I remember, once in fourth grade, another kid and I had a free hand Garfield drawing contest, in Mrs. Cobb's class.  I don't remember who we had judge our little contest, and I honestly don't remember, which of us won.  Since I don't remember, it makes me want to say that he probably won.

Thanks,
Jimmy

My Star Wars Show #SWART

This week, the Star Wars Show hosts, Andi Gutierrez and Anthony Carboni, asked for Star Wars Show Art submissions using the hashtag, #SWSArt.

I decided to sketch the "reoccurring character," on the show, Pablo Hidalgo. Hidalgo is a longtime part of LucasFilm, member of the Lucasfilm Story Group, and an author.

My tweet is embedded below, from 08/24/2017.
For this sketch, I used a Staedler Non-Photo Blue Pencil, a 03 and a 1 Sakura Pigma Microns & CopicMarkers, on 5.5" x 8.5" 138lb Canson Mix Media paper. If you would like to see more of my art, the best place to visit is my Instagram account, @JimmyinGA.

COPIC MARKER Organization on the Go

When I'm at home, I have a six-tray expandable system that holds up to 72 markers, and at some point, I will order more trays (http://amzn.to/2v9MXRJ), as my collection expands. This has been a fantastic way to keep my pencils, outliners, and markers organized, on my desk.

I wanted to find a way to do something similar when I traveled or just went to coffee shop to draw. I found this 40 marker carrying case on Amazon (http://amzn.to/2v9CNAP). It works perfectly, and I enjoyed having this option.

By the way, this is not sponsored video. These are just two products that I have found and thought were helpful in organizing my Copic collection.  Thanks for reading and watching!
